COMMENTS:
On a beautiful day, CP Welland yard job 1 passes by on the CN Stamford Subdivision, heading for CN Southern yard, ahead. Engineer Mike K. gives me a thumbs up for a photo op. But there was something that happened later that day that was so unexpected and unfortunate. It was the death of the former retired engineer of this train; former Welland yard job 1 engineer Doug Read. I have many memories of Doug making this move and now it feels a little funny thinking about 'what was'. |
